How does a capacitive touch screen work?
A layer of transparent metallic conductive material (Indium Tin Oxide: ITO) is coated on the substrate surface of the control panel. When a conductive object is touched, the capacitance at the touch location changes so that the touch location can be detected.
Capacitive touch screens have grown significantly in recent years as they support more streamlined processes, increased automation and self-service capabilities. Key properties include durability (public, high-traffic areas), bright light and sunlight readability, fast response and accuracy.
